Question - Questioner asks: I would like to know the official holidays as per the UAE Labour Law on which the worker is entitled to full pay, please specify in details in accordance with the law .My company in where I am working for more than 3 years does not give officials holidays except in Eid holidays and Fridays only. Sometime we take unpaid official holiday. Please advise me.
Answer - I would like to clarify to the questioner that article No. 74 of the Federal Labour Law No. 8 of 1980 states the following: “Each worker shall be entitled to official with full pay on the following occasions. 1.New Year’s Day (Hegira): one day 2.New Year’s Day (Christian): one day. 3.Feast of Lesser Bairam: two days. 4.Feast of Greater Bairam and Eve of Greater Bairam: three days. 5.Birthday of the Prophet: one day 6.Nocturnal Journey and ascension of the Prophet: one day 7.National Day: one day Finally the questioner has the right to report the ministry of labour about the company violation regarding the above mentioned leave.About The Author
